The introduction of this course was triggered by the absence of the so-called Romani / Gypsy Studies in Greek universities. This absence is related to the academic backwardness that occurs in Greece in terms of Roma Studies, despite the excellent work that has been done certain disciplines. The course aims to introduce students to an underrated issue, with particular historical interest and political significance. The history of the Roma in Greece, the Balkans and Europe and the policies implemented cover the period from the late Ottoman era to this day.
